Lossless Merge/Play Panasonic HDC-SD5 AVCHD Files to Windows Media Player 12

I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5 camcorder. All my videos are on my PC hard drive. I just upgraded from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. So I can play the .mts videos on Windows Media Player 12, which has added native support for H.264 and MPEG-4 Part 2 video formats, AAC audio and 3GP, MP4 and MOV container formats. Microsoft has recognized AVCHD as one of the popular implementations of H.264 encoding scheme, and has file extensions M2TS and .MTS pre-registered in the system. Windows Media Player is able to index content of these files, while Windows Explorer is capable of creating thumbnails for each clip. But now the problem is how can I merge or join all my clips recorded by my Panasonic HDC-SD5 into one and then playing with Windows Media Player 12 without losing quality.

While looking for the solutions to merge MTS footages for WMP 12 without conversion, I got Aunsoft Final Mate as the top rated AVCHD joiner on Windows XP/Vista/7.

Follow the guide below, and you will save large time for joining the Panasonic SD5 AVCHD to Windows Media Player 12 for enjoying.

Step1: Import AVCHD files to the program from PC hard drive
Launch Final Mate, click on Resource Tab and click Add button to browse your PC and select the path stored your video files. Then all AVCHD clips stored on PC hard drive will be listed on Resource Tab, available for later joining. This importing way applies to the movies already stored on PC hard drive, if your footages are still in your camcorder, please directly capture and import them by using Camcorder Wizard function in the program.

Step2: Join Panasonic SD5 MTS files into one for Windows Media Player 12
Then using shift + click to select video clips, drag and drop them to timeline for merging without conversion. Or you can first click Add button to add a blank movie for lossless output, then using shift + click to select video clips, drag and drop them to such a blank movie for merging without conversion for Windows Media Player 12.

Step 3. Export the big MTS file without any decoding/encoding for later playing on WMP 12
Click the Export button. As there is no video for conversion, just click the OK button for export without any decoding/encoding. After only a few minutes, you will get your merged MTS file for playing with Media Player 12 on Windows 7.

Tip:
If you are using Windows Media Player 11, you will not add your MTS files it and play them on PC. You can upgrade your Windows Media Player 11 to WMP12 by upgrading windows OS to Windows 7. Or you can use Aunsoft Final Mate to convert/transcode AVCHD MTS to WMV with high resolution, bitrate for playing with WMP 11 with high quality.
