Edit Sony HDR-XR550 MTS/M2TS in Cyberlink PowerDirector in Full HD

Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 Ultra is review by PCMag.com as the first consumer video editing software for 64-bit Windows. It is easy to process videos and create DVD with PowerDirector. Since Cyberlink PowerDirector 7, users can import AVCHD files for editing. However, with the old computers, the AVCHD editing does not go smoothly in Cyberlink PowerDirector.

If you would like to edit Sony XR500 AVCHD footage in PowerDirector on old computer, you need third party software to make the camcorder videos much more PC compatible. Step 1. Get Sony XR550 footage to Final Mate.

Select the files from the Camcorder tab or Resource tab, drag and drop to the Movies tab underneath. Step 3. Export XR550 MTS/M2TS to Cyberlink PD 7/8/9.
Click the Export button, and go to the Editor tab. Choose Cyberlink PowerDirector group. There four formats as output: Cyberlink MOV (AVC) (*.mov), Cyberlink MPEG-2 (*.mpg), Cyberlink WMV (VC-1) (*.wmv) and Cyberlink MPEG-4 Movie (*.mp4). Here we choose .mov format, and you can choose your preferred file container. Then click the OK button to start converting 1920x1080 AVCHD to full HD video.

To get high quality videos, you can choose high quality from the video bit rate drop-down box before starting conversion.

When the conversion is done, just put the output HD videos to Cyberlink PowerDirector and enjoy the editing and movie making.
