Fix Panasonic SD707 1080/50p Video Compatibility on Mac Snow Leopard

My friend got a new Panasonic HDC-SD707 and filmed 1080/50p videos to enjoy the progressive video with nice details. However, after rewrapping the videos via clipwrap, she faced problem for the playback. QuickTime players the files but the movies stutter, making it uneasy to watch on Mac. The video files do not play well in Adobe Premiere either.
After searching via google for the right solution to her issue with Panasonic SD707 1080/50p video compatibility on Mac, I recommended her to try Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac for transcoding AVCHD to H.264 MOV. The Mac Panasonic SD707 video converter also provides remux/rewrap option, but I do not think it is stable.

Below is the fast guide for guys who also face 1080/50p compatibility problem on Mac OS X for playback, and fix the problem to get smooth movies.

Step 1. Download SD707 movies to Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac.
Connect Panasonic SD707 camcorder to iMac/MacBook Pro, run Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as the best Panasonic SD707 Video Converter on Mac Snow Leopard. Click the "Add" button to import .mts files from the camcorder folder like CAM_SD > PRIVATE > AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM.

Step 2. Choose MOV format.
Click the "Format" option, and navigate to HD Video > H.264 HD Video(*.mov) as output format. The Mac 1080/50p video converter will transcode AVCHD .mts files to .mov with H.264 codec for QuickTime Player.

Aunsoft Video Converter also provides intermediate codec like ProRes 422, AIC like Clipwrap, but for video playback, we do not need to choose these formats, which are mainly designed for video editing in FCP, iMovie, FCE.

Step 3. Get 1080/50p video in high quality.
Click the Settings button and go to the video frame rate option, you can choose 50fps for the output video. If you are using the NTSC model of SD707 with 1080/60p, you may also choose 60fps as output frame rate.

Step 4. Convert SD707 1080/50p AVCHD to MOV for QT.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac Panasonic SD707 AVCHD video converter to FCP native format converter will start converting HD 1080 to 1080/60p for FCP on Mac Non-linear editing.

When the conversion is done, you can enjoy Panasonic HDC-SD707 1080/50p videos on Mac with easy upload and smooth playback in QuickTime player.
