I bought the Oregon Scientific ATC-2K recently as I had planned our dory trip through Grand Canyon on Colorado River. I was so excited about it because I was going to attach it to the rope of our tow boat for utmost personal view when we floated down the river!
The trip was full of fun as expected and the videos turned out awesome! Everything was so perfect until iMovie couldn't recognize the footage… Well, ATC-2K recorded in AVI format which simply is not supported with iMovie.
I had to find myself an affordable AVI to MOV converter. It's not quite so hard as my first choice named Aunsoft Video Converter gave me impressive results with my AVI footage. What I didn't expect about the software was that I was also able to convert my trip videos to my HTC Droid Incredible. What a plus!
I'm happy now to share with you how to convert AVI to MOV in my personal case. After you launch the app, drag and drop files into the converting tool. Multiple files are supported, so be cool. The second step for you is to choose output format. In my case, I simply choose MOV from Common Video section. Tips: Some basic editing functions such as trimming, cropping and audio replacement are also available in the program. Before you click the Convert button to start your conversion, you are allowed to join/merge all your AVI files into one single file by checking "Apply to all".
Did I mention that Aunsoft Video Converter provides HTC profiles for Android phone users? Oh, yeah, check it out from the screenshot below!
Now, with both ATC-2K and the AVI converter, I'm free to use the helmet cam for a number of activities including bungee, skydiving and Go-Karting!
